Banganapalli Mango – A Brief History:
The Banganapalli mango, also known as Benishan or Safeda, originates from Banaganapalle in Andhra Pradesh, India. Cultivated since the early 19th century by the King of Banaganapalle, it's prized for its large size, golden-yellow skin, and sweet, fiberless pulp. It received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2017 and now covers about 70% of Andhra Pradesh’s mango cultivation. Renowned for its taste, it is enjoyed both fresh and in various culinary uses.
